Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station Completed

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) — The Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station has been completed as a proud structure built by young people in Songun Korea.

A ceremony of its completion took place with splendor on October 3.

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, came out to the venue of the event.

He made a historic speech there.

Upon listening to his speech with deep emotion, all the participants set their hearts ablaze with firm pledge to glorify the proud history and tradition of the Juche-oriented youth movement forever and demonstrate the indomitable fighting spirit and heroic stamina of the Korean youth before the world under the leadership of the great party.

He warmly waved back to all participants including members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade who have completed the construction of the power station with patriotic loyalty to the leadership of the party, the heroic fighting spirit, creative wisdom and fervent passion.

He cut the tape inaugurating the power station.

That day he had a photo session with the members of the youth shock brigade, builders and service personnel of the People’s Army who participated in the construction.

He warmly congratulated the builders on successfully carrying out the behest of leader Kim Jong Il by successfully completing the construction of the power station at the time fixed by the party and at the level required by it and on presenting the greatest labor gift to the 70th founding anniversary of the party.

He highly praised all the builders of the power station as heroes and had a photo session with them with the dam of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 1 for a background.

He expressed expectation and conviction that the young people in Paektu would creditably perform the mission and duty as young vanguard of the party having soul and spirit of Paektu.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, Choe Ryong Hae, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Yang Gon, Kwak Pom Gi, O Su Yong and Kim Phyong Hae, secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Ri Il Hwan, department director of the C.C., the WPK, Ri Sang Won, chief secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, commanding officers and members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade, service personnel and other builders, officials of the youth league and officials of the army and society who contributed to building the power station.
