Efforts Paid to Modernization of Chemical Industry in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) — The DPRK has directed big efforts to the modernization of chemical industry.

According to data available, the frameworks of 10-odd buildings and structures were erected and the construction of a gigantic underground pipeline network is being hastened as part of the project for creating the C1 chemical industry.

Footing excavation for 10-odd projects of the main production process was finished at the construction site of the Sunchon Phosphate Fertilizer Factory and it gains momentum at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex to make preparations for remodeling the sodium carbonate production process based on glauberite.

And other projects like the building of catalyst production base and epoxy resins paint production process and capacity expansion for increased nitrogenous fertilizer production are being pushed forward as scheduled.

Besides, the rebuilding of the Sinuiju Chemical Fibre Mill, establishment of caustic soda production process based on diaphragm process at the Sunchon Chemical Complex and other important projects have been carried out in a brisk way to be conducive to strengthening the independence and Juche character of the chemical industry. -0-
