Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, gave field guidance to the work in different fields in Samjiyon County.

The first leg of his guidance was the Samjiyon Schoolchildren’s Palace.

He went round the room devoted to its history, hobby group room for training vocalists, room for physics, room for study of automobiles and other places of the palace.

The Samjiyon Schoolchildren’s Palace is the palace for children whom Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il loved so much, he said, giving valuable instructions to display the portraits of smiling Generalissimos more brightly and with greater care.

Winter comes earlier and lasts long in Samijyon and it is, therefore, necessary to keep the palace warm so that schoolchildren may conduct after-school activities without inconvenience in winter, he said, giving instructions to successfully ensure heating by introducing a geothermal heating system.

At the gymnasium he stressed the need to ensure satisfactory lighting for night exercises and install better equipment for sports including basketball.

The second leg of his guidance was the Pegaebong Noodle House.

Going round several dinning rooms on the ground and first floors, he learnt in detail about environment inside and outside and service.

He said the noodle house is associated with the leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il, adding that if it is to operate better, it is important to preserve its own local character and face, not copying other’s, and take thorough measures for the supply of foodstuff like starch and meat.

The third leg of his guidance was the Samjiyon Hall of Culture.

He learned in detail about the hall management and cultural and emotional life of the people in the county and gave an instruction to steadily improve the management and operation of the hall.

Then he went round the indoor hockey ground, outdoor skate park and ski course in the Sports Village in Mt. Paektu Area and underlined the need to update the village.

He watched training of ski runners of the Sajabong Sports Team.

Prior to the training, he met them and asked about how long they have learned skiing and examined their ski suits with keen attention.

After going round Samjiyon County, he set forth important tasks to be implemented by the county.

It is the firm determination of the party to make cheers for socialism and the Workers’ Party of Korea heard from Samjiyon as it is the first township at the foot of Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of the revolution where the Korean revolution started, he said.

He underscored the need for the national institutions and the province to sincerely assist the county and for the whole country to help it so that all its party members and other working people may firmly equip themselves with the revolutionary spirit of Paektu and glorify the revolutionary traditions of the party.

He promised to come to the county again, saying the people of the county are always in his mind.

He was accompanied by Kim Won Hong, Kim Yang Gon, Han Kwang Sang, Pak Thae Song, Hwang Pyong So, Kim Pyong Ho, Hong Yong Chil and Ma Won Chun.
