Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), received a congratulatory message from Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Monday.
Xi Jinping in the message extended warm congratulations to General Secretary Kim Jong Un and the WPK Central Committee on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and on his own behalf after receiving the glad news that Kim Jong Un was elected as general secretary of the WPK at its 8th Congress.
The message said the 8th Congress of the WPK, at which a series of works for developing the socialist cause in the DPRK were organized and assigned, is of weighty importance.
It noted that Kim Jong Un’s re-election as the top leader of the WPK fully showed the trust, support and expectation of all the WPK members and other Korean people for him.
It expressed belief that the WPK and the Korean people will strive for achieving the goals of socio-economic development and register fresh and bigger successes in propelling the cause of Korean-style socialism under the firm leadership of the Central Committee of the WPK headed by the general secretary with the congress as an occasion.
Recalling that the two countries, China and the DPRK, are friendly socialist neighbors linked by the same mountain and rivers, the message stressed that it is a steadfast policy of the Chinese Party and government to successfully protect, consolidate and develop the China-DPRK relations.
Xi Jinping in the message also expressed his will to safeguard the regional peace and stability, development and prosperity and provide the two countries and the two peoples with bigger happiness by strengthening the strategic direction of the relations between the two parties of China and the DPRK and between the two countries, constantly writing new pages of China-DPRK friendship and cooperation in keeping with a series of important mutual recognitions made by the two sides, propelling the development of the socialist cause in the two countries and maintaining the orientation towards political solution of the Korean peninsula issue together with Kim Jong Un under the situation in which the world entered a period of confusion and changes.
The message wished Kim Jong Un to achieve fresh bigger success by leading the Party and people of the DPRK, and his work to go smooth. -0-
