Construction of Samjiyon County Progresses Apace in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) — Builders of the 216 Division are making achievements to spruce up Samjiyon County, a sacred land of the Korean revolution in Ryanggang Province, the DPRK.

The Construction Brigade 618 under the division dug out hundreds cubic meters of earth and tamped thousands cubic meters of concrete to lay a foundation for the Paektusan Museum.

A regiment of the brigade also removed thousands cubic meters of earth and installed various fixtures and laid electric wire as part of their efforts to construct an intermediary base for producing building-materials.

The Hyesan-Samjiyon Railway Construction Brigade is building up railroad bed, structures, a railway bridge and railway stations at the final stage.

Achievements have also been made by other regiments of the division in producing timber and building a wind-solar power station with the capacity of several hundred kW.

Meanwhile, the 914 headquarters has pushed ahead with a project to turn the county into a model one in potato farming.
